These Terms & Conditions apply from the 1st of January 2018
I. Introductory terms
1.1.Stablo znanja acts on the domain www.stabloznanja.com (hereinafter referred to as the „Page“). This document defines the policy of collection, usage and disclosure of personal information which are being collected from the users of the Page, personal computers and other infrastructure of Stablo znanja, Student center of the University of Zagreb, Savska 25, 10 000 Zagreb, Croatia (hereinafter referred to as the „Space“).
1.2.Your personal information is exclusively with the goal of providing you with a better service and for us to be able to dissociate from the possible usage of computers and other infrastructure for the activities that are contrary to the legislation of the Republic of Croatia.
II. Data collection and their usage
The personal information of our users is one of the areas that we are paying extraordinary attention to. Keep in mind that all requirements are met and in some cases even exceeded because your data and data security is in the first place.
Stablo znanja is, in accordance with the Personal Data Protection Act, committed to protecting the personal data of its users.
For the needs of sustaining an online platform, we collect the following user data:
- name and surname,
- the JMBG number,
- e-mail address (your username),
- contact telephone number,
- University and faculty name,
- and other data that users enter into forms on the site
We are not responsible for the accuracy of data entered by users.
For security purposes, IP addresses are also collected from which users access the site.
All of the above information, except cookies, are stored permanently on the server. Session cookies are stored in server’s memory only for the duration of the visit and are deleted after one hour of inactivity, and permanent cookies are stored on the visitor’s computer.
Stablo znanja manages the data in an anonymous summarized form that can be used for statistical analysis purposes.
Exceptional disclosure of personal information
The data that will be collected and processed will only be disclosed if such an obligation is specified in the law or in good faith that such action is necessary for proceedings before courts or other state bodies and for the protection and realization of legitimate interests of Stablo znanja.
Deletion, unsubscription, and data request request
The user can always opt out of receiving newsletter e-mails, via a clearly visible check-out that will be in the footer of all sent messages (“Logout” or “Unsubscribe”). By clicking on the link, the user will simply be unsubscribed from receiving promotional e-mails. Due to the natural functionality of the website, the user will always receive an email in case of requests for the forgotten password. User can always request removal of his data from our database via sending a mail with subject DELETE to [email protected] Stablo znanja is then required to delete all stored data associated with the address from which the request mail was sent. Due to the natural functionality of the website, we reserved the right to remove all user data (e-mail address, name, other data that a user can enter) and replace with an automatically generated email address and a name that has no connection and in no way indicates the user’s name or e-mail address. We will remove all other data or enter automatically generated characters.
All contact forms and other forms for sending on the website serve only for communication and the information entered is not used for further processing (for example: sending promotional messages), unless clearly indicated on the form.
III. Membership card
3.1. In order to reserve your time for the usage of PC’s and other services in the Space, (such as a studio with a green screen), it is neccesary to possess a membership card.
3.2. The membership card is provided after a request has been made by a student of a faculty (or a person determined by a Service Provider) by filling out a Request for a new membership card.
3.3. Membership card will be handed in within 30 day period from the day of submitting the request.
3.4. Membership card can be given to any student of an institution of higher education (hrv. visokoobrazovne institucije) in the Republic of Croatia or, in special cases, other persons determined by the Service Provider.
3.5. Membership card serves the purpose of indentifying the user.
3.5. The person which is responsible in the Space has the right to request to see the membership card while providing the service (in terms of making equipment or any other content functional), with the goal of determing whether the real identity of the person is equal to the identity that the user has presented to the Service Provider.
IV. Terms & Conditions of using computers
4.1. The user who has previously reserved the time for the usage of computers in the electronic form can use the computer for playing videogames, searching web and working on the webpages that does not contain content prohibited by the legislation of the Republic of Croatia, using programs for writing, doing presentations, calculating, making and editing videos and photos, programing, recording and other purposes that are in accordance with the law.
4.2. Downloading files and programs illegally and their unauthorised usage that does not respect intellectual property is strictly prohibited by both Service Provider and the legislation of the Republic of Croatia.
4.3. It is strictly prohibited to use computers for the purposes of any kind of trade or the activities that are considered unlawful in the Republic of Croatia.
4.4. Should there be a connection between a user and such activities, his/her identity shall be immediatelly disclosed and reported to resposible institutions.
4.5. Service Provider dissociates himself/herself from a user who has or will commit an offence agaists the law by using a computer in the Space. The Service Provider shall not be held responsible in such cases.
5.1. Service Provider reserves the right to make changes in aforementioned terms and conditions.
5.2. Shall there be any changes, the users will be informed on time via e-mail they have submitted on the contact form (or verbally to the Service Provider).
5.3. By using our services, you accept these terms and conditions and you agree that you are familiar with them.
User privacy is very important to us, so we strive to provide users with all the information about the cookies we use on our website to enable better website performance and a more pleasant user experience.
The information and data we obtain will be carefully guarded and used exclusively for the purpose of providing services.
6.1 About cookies
Cookies are nothing new, all web site visitors have many cookies from different websites on their computers, tablets, and mobile phones. It is new only that with the new legislation (ZEKom-1) there are changes in the information and / consenting to visitors using them.
6.2 What are cookies?
They are small text files that most websites store on devices that users access the Internet in order to identify the individual devices that users’ have used in accessing the website. Their storage is under the complete control of the user’s browser – user can restrict or disable cookie storage however he wants to. Cookies are not harmful and are always time-limited.
6.3 Why are cookies needed?
They are fundamental to providing user-friendly online services. The interaction between the web user and the site is faster and easier with the help of cookies. With their help, the site remembers the individual’s preferences and experiences, thus saving time and making browsing more efficient and friendly.
Some specific examples of using cookies:
- For a better user experience on the website, we adjust the visibility of visitors according to past visits
- to save choices when creating a shortlist of devices and offers and comparing them

6.4 Disabling cookies
You decide if you want to allow the storage of cookies on your device. You can control and modify cookie settings in your web browser however you like.
